The Eagle...preparing for his second life

When it rains, most birds head for shelter.

The eagle is the only bird that, in order to avoid the rain,

starts flying above the clouds.

No wonder God wants us to spread our wings and soar with eagles.
Crimson (Beth) forwarded this to me.

thanks so much Wendy for posting this on my behalf!

mother nature is truly amazing!!!

That is some beautiful sentiment, BUT it is complete and utter hogwash!

1. Eagles condition their beak just like any other bird and would most likely die if it removed it. AND a raptors beak is supposed to be hooked.

2. If it ripped out is talons they would not grow back! Again they get conditioned on rocks.

3. Plucks it's old heavy, sticky feathers? Come on now! I think the annual molt takes care of the feathers along with preening...

Just sayin...

But if in all the time you have had birds you don't beleive me,
Here is my Ref. snopes.com: The Rebirth of the Eagle:eek:

....hey, I just shared it, no one said you had to believe it.

as for ones opinions, there's always one in a group isn't there??

Crimson,

I didn't mean to upset you. I am sorry.

Just trying to avoid future problems like if someone read that then later saw their bird yank out a talon. I would hate for them to think it is ok and not seek medical attention.

Same goes for a beak...

And yes there is one in every crowd and more often than not if you can't spot them, all you need to do is look in the mirror. (I often am in need of a mirror!)

no worries!....it's not what you said it is HOW you said it.

I happen to do my own research, and came across your snopes article myself.

It would seems there are two entirely different opinions.

I would hope that no one would ever compare their parrot/bird to a Raptor's behaviour.
