Aw! I'm glad you found this bird and not some random person without a heart. The fact that you tried so hard to find the owner is a seriously good thing (and many do not do it because they just can't imagine the owner responding).

I would hope someone would do the same for one of my animals. I have monitored every lost pet page I could find for my area and left my name and number with animal control and the humane society. The reason I didn't post photos on facebook is what she looks like is the only thing to identify her by as she does not have a leg band. There are so many people who will say "that's my pet" just because they want a free pet or food for a pet they own. Owner has not come forward in any way so we will keep her. My dogs haven't bothered her. I have one that's curious but that's it. (Nobody roams free in my home when we aren't home) I have a cage waiting for pick up at Petco. All the cages marked Parakeet were very little so I'm getting one marked Cockatiel. We will also shop for the items mentioned.



She seems to be looking better everyday and getting more coloring. Or maybe she just isn't fluffed up from being nervous. Do birds get more coloring as they mature? I'm not sure but the green seems to be getting brighter and she's getting a few stripes behind her eyes.

I have been monitoring the pages looking for someone searching for a lost bird in the area. Only thing reported was a cockatiel.
