Parrots
Solomon Island Eclectus - SeaWeed
Red Belly Parrot - Dillan
Crimson Belly Conure - Connie
Hi....My name is Jenny and I’m fairly new to this. I have 3 Parrots: SeaWeed - Male Solomon Island Eclectus, Dillan - Male Red Belly Parrot and Connie - Female Crimson Belly Conure. Definitely wasn’t educated properly on the work involved, but love them so much I want to learn all I can, so here I am!! Looking to learn more about SeaWeed specifically, as he has the most different dietary needs. His previous home allowed anything (including coffee). I’m having a hard time getting him to eat most fruit and veggies. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. I don’t give up trying EVERYTHING I find online that good for him though. I’m hooding eventually he’ll give in

Well you came to the right place!

ALL WE ASK FOR IS PICTURES GIVE US !!!!!!!

We have novices and experts in all species here, I think I just saw some eclectus posts earlier. Feel free to add any info or advice or joke you want to any thread and feel free to ask anything. Very helpful people here and many people would love your advice on those breeds I'm sure!

This place is also a community, if you get sucked in; don't worry, it's much better than twitter or facebook filled with political and social crap. It's about what we love.

Welcome to you and your flock! Lots of great info here, and several Ekkie people to help with diet advice :). Definitely hope you’ll share pics of your flock.

Hi Jenny,
you can find eclectus mealplans here till they come out of your ears! :)

You may wish you never ever heard of "chop" ...
Just kidding of course.

Great you found your way here and we have a lot of ekkie-enthousiasts for you to swap stories, just pull up a chair and join right in :)

Welcome! You'll get LOTS of support and advice here, as you are already seeing. Also, the SEARCH tab above is a really good little engine; I recommend it.

I'm glad you found us.

Yes, many pictures, pleeeeeeeeeeease... don't make us come over there!

Welcome to the community!

I'd imagine an Eclectus that won't eat veggies or fruit is not a good thing! What does he eat? I would go to the Eclectus forum and talk to the Ekkie people about what he should be eating every day, as well as what he has been eating and what the consequences of that may be, as they do tend to develop neurological and health issues overall if their diet is not adequate...

Welcome! My guy is pretty good about food, but I have noticed it's helpful to warm up some things and mix it in with oatmeal. Both of my birds LOVE oatmeal! For example, if I want him to eat broccoli I'll chop the broccoli up super tiny, and mix it into some warmed up quick-oatmeal. You can try with carrots, etc.! Check out the forums though, there's a ton of info on them :)
