I just brought home 1year old male gouldian finch. the poor thing didn't move from his perch from the time we put him in his cage yesterday(4pm) and was in the exact same spot this morning....sigh 
nothing wrong with him other than shutting down.
he hadn't touched his water or his food, which was a bit of a concern for me.
It's a brilliant beautiful sunny day here, so I moved his cage into the sunshine.
wow!!, what a difference.
He perked right up, starting investigating his cage etc...
I honestly think think is the first time he was felt the warmth of the sun, or even seen daylight.
nothin' like sunshine to brighten up ones life!
