Teflon website has a bird warning!

Just a guess here, but it's possible they have faced lawsuits over lost birds to their products. Not sure if it's true, but I'm guessing that's why they have the disclaimer/warning.

Hopefully it will educate some people!

Yes, true.
Their statement that Teflon is safe for people is still sketchy in my opinion, but I was glad that they had a warning (even if semi-hidden and litigation-based lol)

It probably was put-up due to a lawsuit or legal issue, but at least it's there. That's more than can be said for most-all manufacturers of pots and pans that contain Teflon, most don't have a word about PTOA's or PFTE's, let alone any mention of harm caused to birds. As I've heard from people who have called these companies, most of them don't even know what you're talking about if you call them to ask them about whether one of their products is bird-safe or free of PTOA's...That's bad...

I think this is probably (and sadly) the reason that most of the general public has no idea that Teflon fumes kill birds instantly. I'd guess that maybe 20% or less of the population is aware of this?

A step in the right direction, hopefully the industry will harmonize to a universal warning.
