Taming young budgies ?

So one of my younger brothers and I are THINKING about getting a little baby budgie or two from our local bird breeder. And i was going to try to tame them and make them a bit social. When i was younger our family always had budgies, but we eventually upgraded to Lovebirds. And now i kind of want budgies again!
They would be eating and drinking by themselves, but they're still young. But does anyone know if they would be easy to tame/toilet train etc.? I thought it would be a bit more exciting to train one myself rather than buy an already trained one. Plus the ones that are already tame are a bit more expensive..
OH and do Lovebirds and budgies get along at all? If we were to put them in the same aviary would they be friendly to each other? Thanks

AND Would a male bird be better to get? I read that the females aren't as social and can sometimes be aggressive

Training can be done yes, I've trained budgies in the past and it's easier to train one alone but multiple ones together can be done as well as monkey see monkey do. When one does it, the rest follows.

Lovebirds and Budgies don't mix! Lovebirds can be evil and can easily injure or kill a Budgie.

IF they're young, either a female or a male work fine but yes females can be a bit feisty!!!

when i only had one Budgie I simply kept him out of the cage and with me almost all the time. i bought a small play perch thing that i could carry around so that he could sit on me or that. he learned VERY fast by not being caged. he went to his cage at night only. he stepped up etc etc right away cuz he was always with me and i repeated stuff all day! he COMPLETELY changed when i got him a buddy. he still knows commands for sure, but he wants nothing to do with me if he can help it.
so get one, and keep her/him out of the cage when u are home so that you can can teach her/him
they are so beautiful and delicate, i love them.
IF you spend time with your one, then in my opinion, it doesn't matter if it's a boy or girl

Took me a little over a week to get mine to step-up. Still cant scratch or anything but he steps up so I let him out for awhile now.

As mentioned it wouldn't be good to put one with a lovebird as they can be very territorial and harm the budgie.

they are fairly easy to tame and train they are very very smart little birds with big personalities!! They can get along with lovebirds my lovebird Eros used to love my little budgie and they often played outside the cage together but I would never EVER put them in the same cage as Mikey said Lovebirds can be evil and easily kill a budgie and Lovebirds are usually vert territorial! I think getting a budgie to train is a great idea for you
