Taking Rosie to Santa Cruz today

She is one lucky bird to have a such an awesome person like you to love her :)

ah!! i have NEVER been to California and have wanted to go my whole life. Some people say i have "california written all over me", that i would LOVE it. Some day, i hope......
Love the pics. Rosie does look like she had a great day. I'm taking Gilbert to the beach tomorrow, hoping the forecasted west wind does NOT bring all the biting flies....

I put together a video of Rosie. I didn't take any video on the beach - so it goes while driving from natural bridges to the wharf, the wharf, outside the car overlooking the ocean, and sea lions.

At least you still get beaches :D And I bet their warmer than the beaches here lol. There is a running joke that you don't get used to the water, you just get numb and don't feel it anymore. After getting out it's a little hard to move and you can't run(well you can, but your running at a walking pace so it doesn't really count). Surprisingly the last time I went to the beach the water was around 63, much warmer than normal and super nice.
Oh my! Biting flies are scary! Once while in Maryland my parents and I stopped to bird watch next to a coastal marsh and giant flies attached us, one left a big bleeding bite on my mom's leg. We ran back to the car and didn't stop at any other coastal wetlands.

I hope you get to California someday, it really is pretty. Check out the movie Chasing Mavericks, they filmed it 35 minutes away from my house in Santa Cruz and 60 minutes away at Mavericks/halfmoon bay. So beautiful!

Oh my goodness!!!!!! Those pictures are AMAZING! I cant even pick a favourite!

Seems like you guys had a terrific time!

Rosie looks like she had a great little holiday, smiling in each picture :09:

and to make it even better, i just love sea lions, so cute :D
Glad you liked them :D I love the Sea Lions too, unless I'm in the water with them, then I'm worried they'll bite me... or attract great whites!

What great pictures, Ashley!!! Thanks so much. :)

I know of one Jersyan who'll be in Cali in 2 months. ;) Mike, my son, will be stationed there, and he can't wait! :D
That's cool your son will be stationed in California, is he going to be in SoCal? I think there are more bases down there but I'm not sure.
What awesome pics Ashley. Looks like she really enjoyed herself. I love Santa Cruz and the boardwalk. Makes me miss home sometimes.
aww, you used to live around here? I wish I could live here forever, especially closer to the cost. But then I really want to move somewhere cheaper too XD

Also, My friend says I'm afraid to edit my photos to make them look good D: I told her I wanted them to represent Rosie truthfully, so I messed around with a photo to make it how she thought it should be XD

Before: Over exposed, very washed out

Minor editing for forum: It is a little washed out still, but it's a accurate representation of Rosie(who's color is getting better and better)

Then I edited how she thinks my photos should be. So saturated and intense, almost looks like HDR

Here's an in between that I like

Were you in a green beetle?? I just noticed that. I had 2 beetles (a 98, when the "New Beetle" was new and then i traded for an 02 turbo, which was one of the coolest cars i ever owned, but had SO MANY issues, i traded for a volvo and then stayed with that brand).

Yup, my friend drives a green beetle. And mechanically it does suck XD It seems volkswaggens always need to be fixed in general. My mom drives a turbo eos Volkswagen and the engine died twice when it was still under warranty and once more after. The car is only 2 years old and my mom purchase it new.

Brooke(my friend) used to drive 10 year old miata that never had problems, and my saturn works wonderful and it has 139,000 miles on it.
