I need some help on how to get my girl to switch to Harrisons. The lady I got her from said she eats something like Harrisons just a different brand. Well, it turns out her main diet was a mix of seed conure food and sunburst macaw food which has a lot more seeds than pellets and of course she wont eat the pellets. She also gave her a LOT of nutriberris seed treats, popcorn treats, and avi cakes. She told me she eats fruits and veggies such as grapes and broccoli but so far the only thing she will eat is grapes and broccoli and has picked a bit at some bell pepers. I've tried slowly mixing in a little at a time but she picks around it. And I didn't notice untill today that she does her best to pick out the pellets in the avi cakes. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Pretend to eat the pellet infrount of your parrot, it normally helps. And try wetting the pellet and mixing it into the seed, so that when she eats the seed, she gets to eat a little bit of pellet. Also add some pellet into her fruit and veggies that she likes, and even use pellet as a reward treat! Since she worked for it, she will normally eat it.

I heard that some parrot doesn't like Harrison's, so if your parrot just will not the eat pellet what so ever, try anther brand. Like roudybush, most parrot likes it. Or ZuPreem, pretty bird or kaytee, since these pellet have different shapes, colour, and has added sugar, most parrot will eat them. Once your parrot will eat those, try the Harrison's again.

I will try all of that. I'm only using Harrisons because that's what my other bird eats and I just bought a new big bag. In the macaw food there are a few pellets that are different colors and shapes she wont touch those either. I've tried giving as a treat but she throws it lol she's still pretty young so I hope something works soon

I've been crushing up the harrisons pellets and a few of the macaw pellets every morning, and sprinkling over her veggies with broken up avi cake pieces mixed in as well. And she has been eating it! She still wont eat a whole pellet. If I try to give it to her she just drops it but this is a start! :)
