Last night I had Sunny, (my Hahns Macaw) on his playstand in the living room, I left to use the rest room. One cat who cant stand me behind any door went into the restroom with me, the other cat doesnt care. It was no longer then 8 to 10 minutes that I was in restroom. I came out and looked at the playstand and no bird? WTF? I looked for the other cat and he was in my office, (where the bird cage is) and he was sitting on the opposite side of the room observing Sunny sitting underneath his cage on the storage shelf.

From the playstand in the living room to the birdcage in the office is at least 25 to 30 feet. Sunny got off his playstand, walked across 25 feet of floor, braving past the cat, onto his playstand. I have to realize the playstand is no longer a safe place to leave the bird unattended. I know the cats can not get on the playstand but Sunny sure as anything can leave the playstand.

Now I just have to figure out how he did it!! :green:

The playstand has a seed guard all around the bottom, but that is a good question, I assume the cats cant get on it because of the seed guard.

Sunny was probably following you and stopped where things looked familiar ! ! !

This is the first time Sunny has decided to go on a walk on his own, only have had Sunny for 3 months but I think this might be a sign of things to come.

My cats are pretty good at jumping and landing on things. Even 1 inch piping.

My Severe has decided that he likes to go for walks too but I'm usually in the room. He likes to be on the floor.

The storage shelf under his cage contains all his food, pellet, and snack bags, maybe he realizes where the snacks are and wanted an evening snack, my cats are scared of Sunny but I do have to be careful.

My cats just look at the birds and keep on walking. When I go to the bathroom my cats all go with me. When I'm in the kitchen the birds can all see me. But I really try to be careful and not leave them both out and alone.
