Sun Conure's first molt? How can I preen him?

Hey all, I'd like to ask when I can expect my 14 week old sun conures first molt to be. I'd like to get prepared for all the feathers and stuff LOL. Also I'm wonderin how I can help him preen. Ive been seeing several pin feathers on his face next to his beak but as I've stated in another post he's not fond of me touching his face because he fidgets around with my fingers too much. The pin feathers are also too small for me to get a hold of.

Do not try to preen until they are hard and will easily break apart! If the cover feels soft, its to early. Being able to generally touch your Parrot is important in this process, so work on general touch and note whether the cover is soft or hard. Light pitching should easily crack the cover and it will crumble away. After a couple of success, your Parrot will be more interested in your helping.
