he fell/flew off of the towel bar that he ALWAYS sits on while we shower - and it was just as I was soaping up... I picked him right up and rinsed him off but I am at work scared to death that he is going to have a bad reaction of some kind!!! has this happened to anyone before? should I be worried?

I haven’t had this happen (my sun is still unsure of showers), but maybe it can help to know the type of soap he fell into? I imagine that, because he was rinsed off promptly, he probably won’t have a strong reaction, but I have no experience with that. But don’t borrow trouble :) (harder done than said, I know!).

it was just dial soap and it was pretty watered down because he flew onto the floor of the shower so it was mostly just water and he LOVES to get wet in the shower but i've never had him in contact with soap before. He seemed happy when I left for work... I would just be beside myself if I did anything that ended up injuring him! I wish I could go home to check on him!

I imagine he’s just fine :) if he didn’t get soap into his eyes, I doubt it’s a big deal. We do worry ourselves sick over these little squawkers, though, don’t we?

You don’t leave your house excessively cold do you? Other than coldness, since you rinsed him well AND he seemed happy when you left, I’d expect he’s probably fine.

Your rinsed him off promptly, he sure be fine. My cockatoos and cockatiels at time will use Dawn soap if they get to dirty as they get into stuff all the time. Same way we clean them at the recuses. Just be-careful not to get soap into his eyes, or beak.

We keep a bucket in the shower. When we first start the shower and waiting for water to get hot we try to catch the wasted water in bucket. At some later time we use the water to flush the toilet. I live in CA where we are always in a drought.

Anyway the first time I took Bella in the shower she panicked and you guessed it she ended up in the bucket full of water. The water had I am sure used shampoo and bar soap runoff. I rinsed her off as best I could and that was not well cuz she was a very unhappy camper,

She was fine after this so I don't think you have anything to be worried about.

Years ago my little BeeBee parrot Max got a huge glop of mayo on his head and back. We used Dawn and had had to lather him pretty well to get it off. The board members told me to make sure to keep it out of his eyes, and to rinse, rinse , rinse. So if you rinse him off really well, I would think he will be OK.
