Hey everyone!
First day here and already have a question. I have a 8 month old Sun Conure (2nd Aug 2016 - DOB), his name is Sid (From ice age) and he is amazing.
Now moving onto my question he never liked pellets nor seeds (only canary seeds and those ear of wheat idk what they called long golden thing with full of seeds - which i feed occasionally not often) I got him from a private breeder, when he was about 5 months and i was still feeding him porridge and tried moving onto pellets but he hates them and starved himself. So i tried fruits, i started with Grapes and Apples and he likes them allot and i tried to mix some pellets inside his food but he didnt eat much (i fed porridge still for 2x a day morning and evening). So now i make a fresh bowl of fruits and veggies which contain the following:
Apples,
Grapes,
Broccoli,
Coli flower,
peas,
Beans,
carrots,
Zucchini,
Salad,
and finally corn. (Occasionally i will add blueberries, raspberries, cranberries and strawberries. which he also likes)
All these fruits and veggies i keep frozen and every morning i add hot water to a cup to allow them to de-front and then i cut them up into small cubes and he only wants to eat this. Sometimes he eats allot, sometimes not.
My question is, is only feeding him this range of fruits and veggies bad? I have had him on this diet for maybe 2 or 3 months and he is looking good nothing i can see which concerns me.
And yes i tried adding pellets to this mix he hated it, didnt eat anything, i also tried to add hot water to the pellets and make a paste which i put over the food and he didnt eat it.
The thing which concerns me is i read all over the internet on forums that people cant get their bird to eat fruits and veggies they try everything and the bird refuses to eat fresh fruits and veggies. Now why on earth is my bird the complete opposite??
