Sun conure behavior

I've had my sun conure knuckles since december, and was wondering if some of the odd things he does is normal. For example, sometimes he will actually peck at things, usually metal or something that can make a noise. Also, when he goes to sleep he makes this strange noises that sometimes sound like he's laughing, or being squeezed. Anyone else's conure do this? PS, when I scratch his head his head feathers get fluffed out. Is that a happy gesture or a way of telling me he doesn't like it?

All quite normal. Hahnzel mutters to himself when he is going to sleep and will even tell me, "shut up" if I wake him accidentally.
