Hello Everyone,

Today I noticed my Eclectus has small strings beneath his tounge that look black. It looks almost as if they are attached to tounge, but have not taken notice of these in the past? Is this a normal thing to see for an Eclectus?

I do not want to try to pull anything out (and cause undue stress if normal), and if not normal. Does anyone have suggestions for how to have him open his mouth long enough (and raise tounge) for me to remove these items?

If it is something in there maybe a quick trip to a Vet would be a good idea. It could be anything. From a bit of cotton from a toy to a human hair. Either way if it was my bird i would have it to the Vet, put to sleep & the offending material removed. Less stress on everyone.

This reminds me of, when I had my first toddler... I saw this dark think along his tongue, and I thought he had really hurt himself... It turned out to be a food of some sort... The panic I felt was unbelievable..
