Hello!
Well so Mambo my BFA sometimes behaves weird..
What happens is this:

He’s eating, or hanging on a perch or whatever. And then, suddenly he becomes crazy, he opens the tail, his eyes start pinning, and he moves his body everywhere..

I don’t really know what this means, and there is nothing that he can see or anything.
It just happened in the living room, I was sat on the sofa and he was next to me, and suddenly he did this...

Any idea of what this could be? I have no clue.. also when he does this is better to not put the finger near him or he will bite it off most of the times :/

All Amazons love food! Your BF sounds like he is loving his meals lol. Personally, I WOULD NOT put my finger or anything else close to him when he is like that! Don't ask me how I know!!

Classic "amazon overload" and a normal behavior for these parrots. Basically, the bird just becomes so excited it's brain doesn't know what to do. This seems to be a fairly amazon specific behavior and is more prevalent in 'hot 3' amazons, including BFAs. As you have so accurately observed, offering fingers to an overexcited amazon is a most unwise choice;)

When your bird gets in this state, just back off and let him cool down.

It’s completely normal then??
Thank you guys! I’ll try to record him anyway and post it, that way you will see it by yourselves!

What you describe can also be a request for attention.

I can usually interact with my Bingo when he gets like this. It doesn’t have to be physical and it usually involves mimicking his movements (swaying back and forth) and repeting his vocalalizations.

But yes completely normal

Yep, classic behavior. My Sammy will do this for several reasons. Because he is excited, as when little kids are over. He loves them. Also, when he sees something he wants, such as pizza. When my husband comes home, he also exhibits this behavior. He wants Roger NOW! He is approachable at these times, but very carefully. This can lead to a full blown Amazon frenzy, complete with throwing things and biting anything in sight. Screaming hello and ringing bells are also a part of the act. Throwing the head around a la Linda Blair in the Exorcist is the climax of the show.

After he is done, a good nap is in order. I guess Amazon frenzy is quite tiring. LOL

My Kiwi does this too. The nap that often comes afterwards is such a happy, ruffled, totally content/at peace with the world looking bird. Like all his demonic energy comes out and then he needs to recharge in the most adorable way possible.

Oh gosh, that is so funny. He really sleeps deeply too. The demon is slayed!
