Strange behavior!!

Like some know. My two lovebird had eggs a couple of days ago.She is sitting on her 3 eggs offcourse, but now im going to write about the green one (he) :
He have been sitting on the bottom of the cage, under the newspaper i puted there for stuffing material purposes. First i thought he was sick or something, but than i just reached in with a pencil and touched his newspaper "tent", he was directly there, biting on the pencil a little bit, then stopped. No sign of that he os tired or something. Then he got back under the newspaper. The yellow one (she) is sometimes going down to him, leaves the nest for some minutes. Om worried because the green was giving the yellow food and company before, but today : NADA, nothing.... he's just being under the newspaper.
Is he sick?!?
Have he given up the yellow?!?
Is he preparing for the hard week thats coming ?!?!
What is the probl. Pls help!

Im sure the green is a male. 98%!
But as im writing now i noticed that he actually got up on the perches, and that he is eating, drinking and staying on the perches for a while now. Can it be so, that he was lazy or bored. Couse it seems like both are more active now, hes eating. She is stuffing the nest with paper.
Not so worried anymore

Maybe it just took him awhile to deal with the responsibilities of "fatherhood" ....You may have to lecture him!!! LOL!!!

Now i see one thing! The nest is too small!! Thats why his not going there. I noticed it before when they was there before (nest) that it was kinda small. So now when SHE have tree eggs HE just cant be there. So he hangs outside, under the newspaper
And it seems to work realy good!
