Hi all, long time no post!

I have a weird ā€œissueā€ with my Quaker. It doesnā€™t really bother me, but I would like to understand it.

My partner and I will sit on the couch with him and he enjoys himself and runs around and all that. But he likes to get between us or a pillow (or any closed off space) and just scream. He screams the entire time heā€™s in there and he likes to spin while he does it. Iā€™m not sure if this is nesting behavior or something similar.

Thanks!

Uh oh, looks to me like someone might be enjoying that "nesty" looking little spot just a bit too much!! Not so much of an issue with a rooster as it might be with a hen, but could still have the potential to trigger some aggression.

Aha! Thatā€™s what I suspected. šŸ˜… Heā€™s definitely a boy but Iā€™ll do my best not to encourage that behavior then.

Another question I just thought of lol- when he gets excited heā€™ll sometimes raise his leg and hold his foot straight up. Heā€™s not asking to step up as far as I can tell. Usually he asks for that by name.

Awwwwwwww that sounds very cute! That one I think I'll leave to our Quaker folks - it may be more of a "Nico" thing than a Quaker thing :)

That's what it looks like to me alright, a bit of nesting/hormone action. I love how you can just pick him up like that and plop him down! A very trusting birdy for sure!
