I do the same.As long as they have air tight lids, plastic food storage containers are great for storing parrot pellets. However, I would put the bulk of them in the freezer to prevent oxidation and spoilage. Leave out a two to four week supply. Storing them in the freezer also prevents infestation by pantry moths and other insects or mice.
Nope, you're both as young as you think. So what you've slowed down a bit. Past my 7Harrison's been there for more then half that. My CAG, encourages me to get up, cook her breakfast, turn on TV or put audio book on. She encourages me to take her for strolls around neighborhood. The one thing she won't allow is for me to park my aging body. So we're not aging. We're showing flexibility to the challenge of shrugging off yesterday, taking the next step forward to enjoy today and anticipation of tomorrow. After all if we've got personal dictators disguised as feathered companions.Harrison's comes in foil-lined bags, easy to use or freeze. I mail-order them in quantities that I know I'll use in a month or so.
Rb has been eating them for almost 40 years. OMG he's old. I'M OLD!!!!!
