Still waiting....

I had my heart set on a Moluccan or an Umbrella for years and years. They are so beautiful and expressive with their crests! But after much reading, research and a lot of contemplating, I know that those particular types of toos are way too much bird for me. I want our parrots to be happy, not suffer.

My personality is quiet and passive so a Zon may not work either, lol. Trixie's personality is already like a mini-Zon. Very spicey. Anyhow, an RB2 seems like a good fit for us. We've been wanting a larger parrot for years and like the IR's as well. But, we keep coming back to the Galahs. ;)

I've always been drawn to and amazed by the larger 'toos but after learning about their possible emotional and behavior issues I just don't know if I could handle that much bird either. After learning that galahs are more independent but still cuddly, smart, and family birds I knew it was a match.

Maybe down the road quite a few years and after I've got more bird experience under my belt I may be able to give an m2 or U2 a try. That's a big 'maybe' though.

I also used to want a M2 or a U2. They incredible birds! I was drawn away from them when I relized that they don't do well in captivity and are highly prone to neurotic behavior as well as their unpredictable nature.

If I ever got a M2 or a U2 I would want a fully mature rehome that is mentally healthy, I never want to deal with a large too as it matures.

That's a good point! I think maybe after my son starts going to school and I have even more time, I could possibly bring home an older, mature, and mentally stable too. But I think an RB2 is a good start for me :) this baby is going to be spoiled!

At one point I told my husband I do NOT want a cockatoo... And then when I was showing him videos of galahs he asked what kind it was lol uhhh...errrr... It's a cockatoo... Lol! Then I had to explain that when I said "I never want a cockatoo" I was referring to "the big white ones" lol
Guess I jinxed myself because now we have a cockatoo coming home!! Hahaha
