Still doesn't like me

I wrote before after realizing Oscar was in love with my husband. Still doesn't come out for me but right away from my hubby. He did get on my arm twice 2 nights ago. He went right back to my husband though. I wanna touch him so bad but he goes to bite and I pull away. I see my husband scratching his head which he Loves and I'm a bit jealous. He is friendly with my husband but that's about as far as t goes. I do like the little guy because he can be nice and funny at times. I have a feeling I'll be sticking to my furry pets. Any suggestions? Tried talking to him, using treats. Thanks

I recommend patience. Our Senegal and now our African Grey both prefer my wife--and females in general. He hs become more and more accepting of me over time, especially during my wife's frequent business travel.

You and your husband could work together to help Oscar appreciate you more. You might try being the main treat and toy provider for a while to see if that makes a difference.

You might also be unconsciously letting Oscar know that you're afraid of being bitten. In our case, my wife handles the birds fearlessly, while I am a little more cautions. I'm sure our birds sense my slight lack of trust and then are less comfortable with me as a result.

I am the one who feeds him, spends all day alone with him. I usually wear something over my hand/arm trying to handle him. I had a jacket on when he got on my arm 2 nights ago.
