Step up advice?

The great thing about this forum is that you will get plenty of good advice from parrot-lovers with years, often decades, of personal experience with what has worked for them. Every person/parrot/situation is different so if solution 'a' doesnt work for you, you can always try another tried and true suggestion. For me the light touch on the belly of a bird who is very young or hand-raised has never elicited a bite/fear response and I wouldn't do it if it did! Mind you I've only ever had small birds like GCC, budgies, cockatiels, my quaker and a little terrorist of a lorikeet many years ago. Green cheeks are VERY smart and I doubt it will take your baby long to get the idea anyway. Happy news RinaDoc that you are making good progress already :)

Yay! I believe the bond is slowly building up!

I think you're further along in bonding and trust than you think.

Maybe open the cage and see if the little one would venture out and step up for a treat?

Betcha he will, they’re very smart!
