Squirt is my little pineapple conure, who would have died, if I hadn't found them, when I did... The oldest didn't survive.. Squirt lost weight the first 2 days of hand feeding, but then she started putting it back on, and I hoped she was safe...
On the 15/12 she turned 3 months old...
Today we (Squirt and I) prepared her adult cage - took everything from her baby cage, and placed it in the same location in her adult cage... Half way through I put her in, closed it and left her for 5 minutes... She started eating... Got her back out, and we finished the cage...
Then I went shopping.. Squirt in her new cage... She was at the door, when I came back, but I just unpacked my groceries, and then went into the office... Going back out, Squirt was playing with one of her toys... I invited her to come out to me... Well, I didn't need to ask twice... lol
We had a bit of a scare a few days ago... I had Paulie (eclectus), Max (alexandrine) and Squirt out... Paulie and Max normally socialise, and Squirt stays with me... Well, this day Paulie was curious about Squirt and came to the chair to investigate... Squirt ended up with a sore beak... I cried... How could I have let this happen? Squirt's beak wasn't just sore, it had a cut in it from Paulie's lower beak, and a hole on the other side from his upper beak... Just one drop of blood...
I gave Squirt formula for the next two days, because I was afraid she wouldn't eat enough... I don't know how much pain she was in... She never did let me know...
I can still see the cut and the bruise, but she's eating well of everything now...
She is so cuddly, yet so independent and playful... I think she is my heart bird...
