Some of you may know I have relatives living in Southern Oregon.

My Mother's partner is still living there in a small town between Medford and Grants Pass. Fire's all around but has not had to evac.
She sent along a picture of her front yard at feeding time.
(yes I know it is illegal but it has not bothered them.)
Anyway normally you would be able to see mountains in the background. Now, not so much.

My entire county (Clackamas) is under some level of evacuation notice. Weā€™ve thankfully not had to leave yet, but are ready to go at any moment. The smoke is thick enough to cut with a knife, and this morning I think some fog has rolled in from the coast along with it. Like nothing Iā€™ve ever seen and I grew up in wildfire country (northern AZ).

It is truly heartbreaking to see our beautiful state on Fire. Weā€™re in a fairly urban area on the outskirts of Portland metro, but Iā€™m expecting to start seeing wildlife flooding in soon. Or at least I hope theyā€™ve made it and did not burn alive. Itā€™s sad, very sad.

at least those animals have something for now. I hope they know to move when the time comes. It's an amazing image!

Surreal pic, Wes, that may be all the food those poor creatures receive for a while. Hope she and her home remain safe.

That represents a huge area, April. Stay safe and I hope you do not require evacuation.
