I watched that video of mishka the talking dog, and the only phrase I could actually hear was "I love you"... Everything else was just howls. NO WHERE near as talented as your mishka, Ant. And get this- I also have a husky (only red and white fur) named MISHKA lol

Oh my gosh, people can be so ridiculous! And they only post things like that to get a reaction. Poor, lonely people with no interaction with others without angering them. It would be like someone posting on the dog's video that they named him after your Mishka...I bet that's what happened, and they named their dog after your beautiful Mishka hoping he would be half as smart as your guy Your videos are amazing (as is Mishka) and I can't even imagine how many people whose day has been brightened by them

If so, it's a very common name, just because it isn't as common in an english speaking country doesn't make it any less common, it isn't as if it's a one-off that somebody called themselves, like beyonce or some name that nobody else has. If so, there are probably zillions of pets with that name.

Trolls probably won't bother reading, but it might reduce the number if you address this "issue" upfront by putting something about it upfront?

Yes, Mishka is the diminutive of Mikhail, which is Russian form of Michael (which is Hebrew btw). Therefore Mishka = Mike.

Indeed. Our beautiful Bella died last Friday. It's the second Bella we've had (first a 'tiel, 2nd eccy). I phoned a Russian lady in the next town to the south (500km away!) who'd advertised a "bonded pair" of eccies. The girls name? "Bella"!!! The boy's name is Alex (our hand-raised boy's name is Alex!). I'd already told my wife we're not naming another bird "Bella", it's cursed for us. There are several Bellas and Alexes in this forum, I'd imagine. So "nice" names like Mishka will pop up all over the place (actually, considering it's Russian, it has a great "ring" to it, and I'm not being prejudiced because I'm a Mike ).

If we buy Bella and Alex, they will be renamed, possibly Alexei and Ayu (Malay/Indon for "pretty"... which is basically what Bella means in Italian). Beautiful is "cantik" pronounced "Charn-tick" & doesn't have the ring "ah-you" has....

Before I got mishka I had her name picked out, all her doggy stuff, dog crate, you name it! But when I looked it up the name meant "little teddy bear" and that's why I chose it.

This is her about 5 years ago (she's 10 now, much fatter and blind now)

I am confused by Mishka the talking dogs age ?

In one of their video's where Mishka was a puppy, they mentioned that Mishka was 9 weeks old in the video, and that one was taken in 2011? which makes her approximately 3 years old.
