1 on its way. Its a baby. Dont know yet if boy or girl.
My baby caique will be coming home in about 3 weeks. I go visit him/her every other day so she learns us. Im so excited to bring her home. I keep calling a girl the DNA hasnt come back yet. If a girl she will be Bella. If a boy my hubby said Lewey (i still dont know how to spell it lol). She has been hand raised since laid. Getting her cage ready for her arrival. Any special toys, beds, etc that urs likes???? I definitely wanna make sure she has things to keep her occupied until i get home from work.

I also have 8 budgies, love them guys too. After a yr, one shocked us and died nov. 10th so we were very sad.

But here is my baby if i can get pics to post right:

She/He is absolutely adorable! (Plus, Eliza applauds the addition of another black-headed caique to the Forum...Henry, not so much...) :p

As for favorite toys, E&H like iPhones, TV remotes, iPads, books, magazines, cooking utensils...in other words, pretty much anything I happen to be holding at the time.

Slightly more seriously, in my experience what they really like in terms of toys is variety. I rotate their toys around (well, at least until they get utterly destroyed) between their cages, play stands, and the bird-supply cupboard.

Congratulations on your new baby, and thanks for the pics!

I just got home from visiting her once again lol. I told the owners they will be sick of me lol. She crawled up behind my neck in my hair and hoodie and cuddled and fell asleep. She wanted to stay there :)

Hello and welcome! Your baby caique is precious! Congratulations, you must be so excited! Please post pics of his or her homecoming.

dskidd, I love the toy list. Caiques sound like lots of fun.

BHC!!!! So cute!

Toys:
Keyboards, laptops, and any cable that is plugged in. If it's not plugged in, they lose all interest.

I second the variety statement. We have 2 completely different sets of toys/perches that we rotate in and out. It also makes cleaning easier. B&B's current favorite are plain ole wood blocks. That'll change tomorrow at exactly 1:03pm CST.

On a side note, ours go crazy for clementine oranges and tequila.

Boy oh boy they r ornary buggers arent they lol. The only thing that stinks is i cant let it run throughout the house because of my dogs and cats :(. So dogs will be spending more outdoor time and cats will be locked in rm for lil bit.

Went to visit again today. She/he played a new game w me. Instead of just crawling up to back of neck in my hair and hoodie hood, she crawled into back of my sleeve and peeked out front lol. Too cute.

Sounds like a cutie. I love how playful Caiques are.

Hey, what happened to the shoe they used to drink from?!

The shoe didn't offer a big enough shot. The oranges are just a garnish to the finished tequila. ;-)

Absolutely--their inquisitiveness coupled with their playfulness makes them utterly irresistible. I also love the fact that E&H want to be wherever I am. It's really endearing. Granted, once they find me, they want to cause as much havoc as possible...

Makes sense regarding the tequila shoe. E&H like to drink their scotch straight from the bottle using a bend-ee straw.
:D

That is adorable. Can't wait to see the pics when you bring her home!

PS in my experience, caiques come up with a new game about every ten minutes. I'll play a game E&H loved playing the day before; the next day, they give me a sort of disdainful "Oh, we're sooOOOooo over that!" look, and try to teach me the new game they've invented.

On the one hand, I'll admit it's slightly demoralizing when your birds think you're a moron; on the other hand, I've kinda gotten used to it...

Ok i though yall were joking but they really drink scotch? Lol they will hate me i have no liquor of any kind lol. Lady said i can probably bring her home in 2 weeks ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Cant wait!!!!! Im down there every single day, sometimes twice a day. The only day i haven't seen her was Sundays cuz they r closed. She is starting to know me, the lady said she definitely knows me. When i walk up and start talking she looks up and her neck stretches out and she flaps her wings just a hair and squeaks like PICK ME UP NOW!!!!! Hehehehe. She is starting to play more. I was scratching her head and she was laying her head on its side on my shoulder and u could tell she was in heaven.

UPDATE: went to visit today. Only saw her 5 minutes Saturday and was closed Sunday. All she did was cry the whole time i was holding her. I didnt know the sound and the lady said shes crying cuz she missed momma. Can she be that attached so fast. They said they r not holding her as much so she bonds with me but i dont want her feeling alone either :(

The cry I think is baby begging to be fed.
