I'm so pleased to see how Mink has accepted baby Chip :). Here are some sweet new pics. Chip's tail had broken off, which is common with babies.
I think they're in love, judging by their facial expressions lol.

They definitely look like they have a good "relationship" forming and acceptance. The colors are unique, almost like they bring out each other with the blue and green.

So cute and fluffy. Looks like they will get along.

Awwe those pics are Adorable...hee hee the little acrobat lost his tail did he ...it looks very much as if Love is in the air...Miss Elsa will be fuming with Chip when she sees these pics of him stepping out with Mink LoL :) Fab pics Julie and its so lovely that they have taken to each other so well. They are Beauties :)

How sweet! Very beautiful pics. They definitely look like they like each other. :)

Thanks everyone :). These two little things make me smile and laugh everyday with their cuteness.

smbrds, thanks for commenting on their color... I love how they go together too. Mink is considered a "normal", but is an olive green/violet instead of the regular green shade of wild budgies. Chip is a cinnamon sky blue, so they're not super unusual color mutations, but just a little different ;).

Darling photos, Julie! They look so sweet together!

so sweet. Do you handle them at all, or do they just prefer each other's lovin?

Mink and Chip were both hand fed babies. I can handle them both, and Mink will step up and let me kiss and pet her. Chip was extremely cuddly until he hit the age where he's starting to become more independent now, and he's recently gone pretty wild on me. If I take him into another room away from the cage, he'll eventually calm down and let me pet him. He's not as wild as a parent raised though. I think they take a lot of handling and dedication to keep the level of tameness, being of a grass parakeet species. I love budgies, both the English and American. Budgies are one species that I will have for the rest of my life.

Edit: Thank you so much Allee! We were posting at the same time.

Julie, you can literally see the 'love" in his eyes :54: lol.
My fav color is blue, and Wally,my one and only budgie was a light blue,a very handsome man he was.
Yes,lets pray that Chip doesn't get a "chip" on his shoulder! HeHeHe...my bad lol.

Thanks Kelly ;) I still wonder if you had seen Chip the day you were at Omar's in LF as you looked at the conures in the cage right below!

Jim, I do hope Chip continues to be a nice little boy and doesn't get a "chip" on his shoulder ;). I like blue too. His extra light shade of sky blue with the cinnamon wings caught my eye at the store, I thought he was pretty.

I think I made a good choice for Mink. After all, it's like an arranged marriage, not like they were able to pick each other lol :18:. They're both equally matched in how aggressive or passive they are with each other, and both are nice birds with tolerant dispositions. She also likes him I think because he's an English too. She was never too crazy about her first "roommate" Twigs, who was an American (smaller type).

I hear you. Even after entering the world of big birds, I would love to have a flock of a smaller species one day.
