Solomon islands eclectus vs other breeds?

Guys which type of species are better than the other. I have read that some sub species are larger than the other. Is there a temperament difference between theme and any behavioural differences? Thanks!

In my opinion eclectus parrots are number 1 in temperament, intelligence and they have the ability to feel empathy and love to an extent. They talk better than an african gray, which at one time was believed that they ruled in this ability. Not the case anymore.

I don't think one species of bird is "better" then another, just better suited for different types of households. The Solomon Island are supposed to have a more even temperament but that is a generalization and each bird is different. This site has a lot of great information.

I would suggest you meet the parrot of your choice before you actually purchase him/her. Every bird is going to have a different personality, just like with pit bulls....some attack and kill people but others are sweet as pie (I know kind of an extreme comparison...but it's true), I got my ekkie from a breeder and I chose a Solomon island Eclectus because everything I read made them seem like they would be the perfect fit for my boyfriend and I.....well my ekkie hates my boyfriend and everyone else besides me, he will bite tHe crap out of everyone else but I can do anything I want to him and he just loves it. Soooo my point it that I read these birds aren't a one person bird that they bond with everyone....well not my ekkie! So don't believe all you read, meet the bird and see what one you have a "bond" with, good luck
