Since there are so many new members , I thought we should make a new bio thread since the other one is old. We would love to hear about your hobbies , career, family.. . Ill start with me. My name is maheen and I'm 11 years old. My family is from " The Exotic Land " ( India ) I am in sixth grade and turning 12. Don't be suprised with the youth of this forum! My favorite subject is science and I LOVE writing essays ! I know, very unusual for someone my age lol. In july i got 2 little bundles of terror and joy. My 2 budgies pepsi amd sprite . In june i will have a baby brother.

I am looking for work now that my daughter has started school, i don't know what I want to do career wise, but I'd love to do something that involves photography and birds lol!

I'm Yasmin, I'm 13, and I live in California, in the USA. Ummm..... I love anything artsy, especially pencil and charcoal drawing, photography, and making jewelery. I have an identical 'clone', Layla, who always tries to post through my account but she still hasn't gotten her own account. Besides my birds I have my longhair calico kitty, Cookie. I have severe claustophobia.. And a bad bad bad fear of jellyfish, not a phobia though. I'll add anything when I think of it!

I'm Dan and im a 25 year old from Brisbane, Australia. Zoologist by trade (mainly worked on Australian mygalomorph spiders - tarantulas and funnelwebs). Now working as a senior school chem and biol teacher. I love it. Hobbies include my parrots, photography, bushwalking, working on the track car and powerlifting. Future goals are to get my parrot info/shop website up there with the best and to do well at state powerlifting championships later this year.

Capt , put myself though school fishing and just couldn't stop after that. Fished my whole life, everywhere and was good at it. Now , i've give up spending my life in the ocean and spend my time with the family and birds. Always had amazons around growing up and still have my childhood pet. Jimmy Buffet " Pirate Looks at Forty". I love parrots have learned so much over the last forty years, just want to help people and their birds.Hopefully, my girl "Jake" has taught me to see the world though their eyes.

I'm Sarah I'm 25 and just moved to Port Macquarie Australia. I became a music teacher last year, since the move no work though =(

I'm a nerd for music, the classical kind, I play as a main clarinet, also play french horn, and the best band I've played with is Brisbane Philharmonic Orchestra but I've subbed in for orchestras from the US and Germany. I hope one day to join the big leagues, but with illness and a need to work to survive I don't have time for my 4hrs of practice a day (that's a minimum too, no wonder I had no social life through uni!)

And I love video games ^.^ current addiction is League of Legends, but I'll always be a World of Warcraft fan and Guild Wars. Trying out my fiances xbox but computer games sit much better with me

Aanndd I love all three of my birds, bites and all, which no one else understands but who cares!

I'm Ashley, I'm 22 and I live in San Jose California were I was born and raised. I'm a animal lover, and also love photography and art. I've been going to the academy of art but lately haven't felt it was right for me. My goal is to get my falconer's license, one or two more parrots and do bird education shows locally at schools and business, and private events. I would love to eventually do a bird show on a high end cruise ship so I can travel the world with my birds for a year or two while I hopefully make a name for myself.

I hope to become an author one day, I have a whole one of those journal/diary books full of a fictional story about a girl named Jenny and the magical world within 'haunted' Forest Lone that I am still currently writing.

EDIT: I forgot something! I am a lucid dreamer, AKA someone who can awesomely control their dreams. Takes a lot of practice, dream journaling, and trying different methods, but once you finally get the hang of it, it is amazing, you get to do anything.

lol speaking of dreams, I'm the type of person might sleep talk, sleep walk, and wake up to seeing hallucinations of random things(like sleep paralysis but I can usually move). I can see anything from a simple object out of place, a spider or bug running across my covers, or I'll experience true fear and see some pretty scary things. The scariest was a half decomposed man in old western clothing slowly leaning towards me and I couldn't move, I turned on my light and ran to my sister's room crying and refused to open my eyes the rest of the night in fear of seeing him again. It still scares me sometimes, I think because of how intense his eyes were and how his eyes were locked onto mine. Normally if something scary happens it's over pretty quick and I am instantly no longer afraid at all and go back to sleep like nothing happened. Both my siblings are the same way, but me and my brother are the worst. It only happens when we aren't getting a good sleep or our thoughts are particularly active.

Lucid dreaming is being aware that you are in a dream, so not all lucid dreamers can control their dreams.

I am a lucid dreamer, I can have some of the scariest dreams about zombies but my dream self is just like "well this is an interesting development" lol. I tend to go along with whatever is happening, when I try to change things my dreams start becoming weird. I wish I remembered my dreams every night, they are so much fun.

Sometimes I wake up doing stuff to, but not too often. It's hard to tell when I wake up because I am really into what ever I'm doing. Once I woke up and was determined to cover my aquarium with a blanket as if they were birds lol.

And I guess I did define lucid dreaming wrong, whoops. I've just gotten to the point, I guess, where you can control yourself.

Kk, I'm Katie and I'm in the BC interior in Canada. I'm a line cook in an Italian resteraunt and a fifth year university student majoring in English and History and hope to teach senior high. I've been married for two years and have been a parront almost as long, first to my senegal Kitoko and later to my twin greys Mateo and Talia. I love reading, research and being aunty to my nephew more than anything, and the dream is to have an indoor aviary and greenhouse attatched to a home in the country, surrounded by grandkids and parrots! We're hoping to start our family soon and are just waiting for good news on that.

I have an alexandrine parakeet call Ozzie, and a cavalier King Charles spaniel call Lucky! My pets are my best friend and they mean the world to me! I just can't imagine living without a parrot or a dog! A house is not a home without a pet! I say that to everyone!

I love art and I am interested in photography. I love taking photos of Ozzie and Lucky. I sometimes look back at all the amazing moments we've been together And then draw it down!

My name is Alison and I am a 66 yr old disabled nurse. Disabled in 1996 after back surgery. I have always had a passion for animals and plants. I think I spent most of my younger years in the woods and swamps around my house trying to catch any critter that didn't run faster or bite back too hard. I have had a large amt of animals and birds over the many years but am now down to my 4 birds and our chiweenie Bentley who weighs 5 lbs and is three years old today. Happy birthday Bentley. 5 years ago we moved from Mass to Fla. Now I have tons of wildlife to watch in my back and front yard, even gators, turtles, frogs, all sorts of birds and I can have flowers outside all year long. I don't think there is any furred ,feathered, amphibian or reptile I don't find facinating. I still have to watch it though I found a beautiful Fla box turtle last year that I brought home and kept for three days while I researched the care it would need then I put him back exactly where I found him to get him back in the gene pool. I was quite proud of myself. Mabey I am finally growing up
