LOL...I didn't expect THAT in the beginning and quickly turned down my volume.

Salsa is SUCH a sweetie!!! :D

I was unprepared for that and had the speakers turned up full blast!
I nearly flew out of my chair LOL

Sorry Wendy . Maybe on this one I should have included a warning to turn down the audio level before viewing

Good to see that I'm not the only one who was unpermantly deaf. I too was on my iPad , now my mom asking if we got a new parrot...

Oh wow, sorry :(. That should have occurred to me. I didn't really think it would come out that loud on the video. It IS explosively loud here with him in person, though.Again, sorry :(

I've added a 'loud audio' warning to the original post.

Tony, I am 100% convinced nobody meant to upset you when they said it was loud. ....I really think all of us truly and genuinely LOVE LOVE LOVE your videos, and can never get enough of them. :)

Aww Wendy... I actually wasn't offended in the slightest. But after a few of the comments I was easily able to imagine how Salsa's sudden loud bursts could be unpleasantly impactful to those wearing earbuds at higher volume levels. I sure appreciate your concern, though .

FWIW, I believe Salsa's particular yell in this video is a mimic of someone's explosive sneeze.

Well, I am on my computer at home & it wasn't that loud to me. But then, I am an 'old' woman & there is some consolation to being one, such as~I don't hear nearly as well as I used to & that is a pleasure!:D

I am one of those people who as a child had to hold my ears when my Mom used the vacuum cleaner & especially when she used power tools.:( It physically hurt my ears that much. I had to keep a fan running year round in my bedroom to drown out background noises so I could sleep. I still do that.

So Salsa on the video does not bother me one bit as far as the noise. Oh I am sure he is much louder in feathered person & it might bother me then. I thought it sounded more like he was imitating a 'learned' sound rather than a true scream. it is adorable & so is Salsa!:red1:

Thanks D'Andrea.

Yes, this particular yell of Salsa's is a learned vocalization and it is much, MUCH louder when physically near him! But still, the only audio around here that literally hurts my ears is Maynard's frequent and persistent screaming. His screaming voice is apparently the correct audio frequency to result in my extreme sensory discomfort. And I think my other 3 Macaws feel the same as me about it ;)
