Debbie,
Please continue to encourage Ryan to not give up , this is a huge commitment and responsibility for such a young man but one thing I've learned over the years is money will come and go but what's important is the effort and love we share with our companions. I'm sure you will find a vet with the answer's soon . I too had a beloved dog that I spent many thousands on to find and treat hip issues she was having , it wasn't dysplasia either and the specialist's were stumped. We were able to keep her comfortable but at only 6 she developed bone cancer in her right front leg , it was very aggressive and I lost her 3 months later. Despite all the problems I know in my heart she did understand I was doing everything I could to help. She was great friend and tore a huge hole in my heart when she passed but I do know she's happy and racing around like the pup I raised with no pain anymore.
On a happier note when Ryan smells the yogurt on Clyde's breath has Clyde regurgitated for him or a toy maybe? I noticed when my conure regurgitates it smells like yogurt. Other than the voice and breath does Clyde seem to be in any discomfort? I realise its difficult to tell with our birds but just wondering. Although I have no advise please know you have my support and hope that Clyde gets treated for his condition soon and your family gets to enjoy Clyde's company for many many years to come.
