Josie - blue and gold macaw
Over the weekend, I rearranged the bird girl's mansion. I came hone today to find it all disassembled. She had a very satisfied look on her face and I swear it sounded like she was saying 'put it back'. She took apart her nut dispenser, dropped 2 boings to the bottom and took down the rain maker. She also dropped all her pellets to the floor. I guess she didn't like the way I redecorated. :-(

Have Josie learned to open her door yet??? When I first got Willie, his cage wasn't the best but I kept it for the time being until he was used to us. He removed all the nuts holding the cage together, but it won't collapse because the top holds it all together. He throws food all over the floor to feed the dogs, disassemble everything and eat his wood to tooth pics in less then an hour. He opens his doors on his own and come out as he pleases. So we had to put a pad lock on his door and so far he hasn't figure out how to pick locks yet....lol....

I hope not....lol.....When we got his cage years back, it was double latched thinking there's no way he would learn to open it....How wrong was I....He would get the first latch in certain position where it stays open then he goes to the second latch and pop and push, viola it's open sesame time...IF he pick open the lock, I'm recording that to the world's most amazing video!!!! :D

That's amazing he can do that. My Senegal doesn't even try. I can even close her door and not even latch it. She is like "oh well, I'm stuck in here"

Although one time when I came home from running errands, I came inside and there she was on top of her cage. I looked at the dog and said "what did you do?" This was a long time ago, like when we first got her, and it hasn't happened since, so I'm thinking human error and not birdie smarts. :)

When we first got her and she had the old cage, she was able to break out. As it turns out, they had the lock put together wrong and that's why she was able to open it. She would let herself out and then let the others out as well. Sadly, that was part of the reason they gave her to me. She was very destructive when she was out unattended. Oh well, their loss was my gain. We couldn't imagine life without her crazy antics. Lol
