Getting
away from her cage was the right move and she’s already more playful and calm in general. I’m figuring out this wing holding I’m thinking just general excitement. She’s only lunged once or twice but I think it’s just bluffs or being annoyed. I’m taking it slow sometimes she’ll grab a nut and chuck it or will lunge at a finger after pretending to grab a nut but no bites yet so time will tell. We’re only day 3 into the change and week 3 into her being with us.

I'm impressed. I admire your care and patience and interest in sharing and reaching out!
What a gorgeous bird.

I'm glad you two are with us.

Getting a territorial bird away from their cage is usually the cure for that behavior. Quakers are notorious for this, and it works almost 100% of the time. A birds cage is his castle! Cant blame them.

We had another surprise today. We redid all blood work as well as dna testing and turns out Margo is a MALE!! Last dna was done so long ago and we believe we didn’t do it ourselves and was basically second hand told etc. this does change things slightly as we tried giving him another play stand and he instantly became hormonal! He went to the grates and started regurgitating on his own wing interior and attempting to shred and rearrange the news paper lining. I think he just associates the bars with an instant “nest” he became super aggressive after as well. When we took the play gym away and he threw his water and food bowls directly in my face !
