Thought maybe I could repost this here in a part of the forums with smaller parrot owners, hoping someone can help

Hey,

So recently I have been looking to find some parrot gyms, the huge ridiculously priced ones seem easy to find! But when it comes to something mid range for Cricket and Pearl, the conures or my friends cockatiels, or even like Quakers I can't seem to find anything which isn't stupidly priced and quite frankly rubbish. Lots of ladders but rarely well placed toys or enough to keep any bird stimulated.

Any ideas? I'm practically DIY retarded and have no "hands on" skills whatsoever, Jack is pretty much the same which is a bit poo because between us we would end up making something Frankenstein esc.

Seems to all be in the US and rarely ships to the uk...

Sorry rambling,

Hope your all well,

X

Have you tried amazon? I found a few small ones (not sure if this is what you're looking for).

Hey, sorry I couldn't get the link on your comment to work D:

Because all the ones I find seem to be a little boring, I thought maybe I could go to my local Home Depot/Home Base and I could buy some pvc poles and try and follow a youtube video on making my own. I'm really bad at making things like this but I can't really find anything that looks like it has good well placed toy areas and perches.

Like this one Acrobird Parrot Playgym - Large Playland

Doesn't look like it has many stimulating opportunities, the toy is oddly placed and it's made up of just ladders?

Am I missing something? Would it be a good one? Are birds okay and enjoy these?

My bigger birds have large metal stands but they are easy to put things on, smaller ones don't seem as easy

I really like the first one, but would that be big enough for a conure and cockatiel? Would they be too big for those? I always worry they look a little flimsy too?

I don't know haha aaa

Sorry about that:(
Here is one i found:

And this one (hopefully these links work!)

Hey terry,

Thanks for resending the links, I loved the first one! The natural wood is a big yes for me. I'm not a fan of dowel if I'm honest, but the first one I really like. Just wish I could see one being used y'know?

May have to buy that one because it's nice a cheap and looks great. Can't hurt to try

You are very welcome! If you get it, I would love to see your birds on it:)

I love some of these! I agree about the dowels, plus my tiels destroy them.

I'm planning a little trip to the DIY store tomorrow to try a small project, il post some pictures and if that goes well I may try for something bigger.

Definitely like the natural wooden one, I just need something with enough on it that the birds can sit and play for like an hour if I need to do something, uni related, house work etc. save keep locking them up.
