Hi,
Would like to know if it's alright for my parrots to stand on the perch while sleeping rather then giving them a small Hut.
The reason why i am asking this was, i just bought for them a hut, so while i started to stroke them in the hut i got a real NIP from them.

I feel they are more aggressive in the hut compare with just in the cage itself.

Just wonder if their legs will be tired all day long standing..:(

Birds naturally stand when they sleep, so sure, it's okay to let your bird sleep on a perch :)

As Pstti. mentioned, once they have discovered use of their legs, our feathered friends sleep, standing on tree branches and many other hard surfaces, unless in an active nest.....

Most birds, including parrots, only use nests for egg laying & the raising of babies.....the nipping you got from petting your birds in their bird hut was probably because they view it as their nest and if they are using it as a nest, you might want to be careful of moving it around as you might find eggs in that hut.....

Good luck and welcome to the forums.....

Thanks for the replies!!!
Guess they are aggressive by nature for being territorial. Means to say, even without the hut. If i just stretch my hands in the cage i would get nip too. Only time i will not get bite is when they are out of their cage.
