So I was giving Phoebe a shower today and noticed some swelling under her wing, when I touched it it felt warm. The other other side didn't appear to be the same when she was in the shower. I frantically called my vet to schedule an emergency visit and start throwing the crate together. I was worried about abscess and swelling (she's also going through a hard molt right now). I've been incredibly sleep deprived lately and decided to have my fiancé help me examine her before I took off to the vet. She was warm because of the shower she was in and the "swelling" was equal on both sides after further examination. She's just gotten abit fat..oops. Time to start adjusting food!

Gosh, Rachael, you just gave me a massive scare!!!

So happy to hear it's just a little extra weight, and nothing more. :) Sleep deprivation is a BAD thing. I sure hope you can get caught up on much needed zzzzz. :D

Try Fruit flavoured Zupreem pellets for the poor little thing, maybe let her out of her cage for a run around a small room or play gym.

She's on zupreem pellets, fresh foods and nuts as treats, and she's not caged. She has a full flight room/jungle gym she's in when I'm at work, and comes out and flys and plays when I'm home. Some of it is muscle too..lol
