2 awesome things happened today. Sunny stayed INSIDE his cage while I changed his newspaper, and Skye got onto my finger to nibble his millet. I’m not sure what happened for all this good luck, but boy am I one happy lady today. And a bonus...Skye didn’t freak out when he saw my phone for the picture.

That's wonderful, so glad for you. You are earning Skye's trust enough for him to get on your finger, and you had luck with Sunny too. I almost got Oliver on my finger one day, but not quite ready. May your good luck with the birds continue.

Congratulations! And you are in the early stages of MBS ( multiple bird syndrome) lol
He is so lovely and you are doing so well! There are different budgie body types, but to me he looks a little lean. I'll see if I have a pic of mine to stuff in your thread for comparison

I’ll definitely ask about his weight when we visit the vet. I have to check my calendar but I believe it’s next week.

I’m certain that MBS is progressive and I look forward to the next stage but for now I have my hands full.

His poops look normal (black poop, white in the middle) he’s eating well, and I haven’t noticed a drop in his activity level. It has gone up a bit since he got the new cage.

Great progress! Oh how wonderful!

Laura, your budger is super cute too! Is he missing a few toes?

I agree he looks healthy. Does he have access to food all day,, or do you do feedings? Does he still get done seeds,? Maybe he went thru a growth spurt. I know you take great care of him! The mom in me just just had to mention. Mine are also flighted so they probably have more development of pectorals muscle

He has access to seed 24/7. We toss the old and refresh it when we feed the veggies twice a day. He refused the pellets, so I just gave up offering them. He would toss them onto the floor. Not the cage floor mind you, he was tossing them out of the cage, onto the bedroom floor. He has veggies offered in the morning and afternoon and we leave him a romaine leaf to nibble on during the day as well. We also changed his seed mix and so far he hasn’t thrown anything onto our floor.
