Sisal rope safe?

I bought sisal rope from Canadian Tire and made a lot of toys with it, and used it for a play stand for my new green cheek conure who I will welcome into my home next week. But after using the rope I found out that some sisal rope are not safe, if they are treated with oil. How do you know if it's treated with oil?
I find it a bit scary now because I made everything with this rope, but I rather start all over if its not safe.

I just made a project for my bird using sisal rope, mine is non-treated, i have a picture of how the rope should look like. So if it looks like that, you should be fine :)

Thank you. Your project looks awesome! Where did you buy the sisal rope?
Mine is a lot thinner, but it really smells chemically oily. I already made the choice to start all over because I'm not going to take the chance that it's toxic.
