Sinking sandness for the loss of you

I'm so sorry you are having a bad day. I know how difficult losing a beloved bird can be. Be as kind to yourself as possible and try to think about happy times with Doolie. Hang in there.

I'm sorry, Maria. Having some especially difficult days is a sign of how dearly you love and miss Doolie.

We never forget our feathered children, but over time your deep sadness may gradually ease and great memories become the more dominant thought.

Scott is absolutely correct. There is no time-line or deadline for the grieving process. It can be "infinite".

I'm so sorry about your special boy. He was so blessed to have you.

Trixie came into my life a week after I lost Pikachu.

She was so different in personality and, of course species.
Didn't think we'd ever bond and even thought that she would be happier in another home.

Fast forward 3 years:

Now, she has her tiny claws wrapped around my heart and will not let go.

To this day, I cannot look at a photo of Pikachu without falling apart.

My heart goes out to you, Maria.

(((hugs)))
