Simple DIY PVC Car Perch

I know this is dangerous but my Chico loves car rides. He prefers to ride up front for better visibility but I use this on the back seat due to the airbag. The thought of a bump, a poof, and a cloud of green feathers was too scary. Now that I am thinking of it, maybe the passenger side airbag does not get deployed if the seat sensor is not activated. I suppose an avian harness could be used to belt him onto the perch but the strap would have to be kept as short as possible. This might prove to be safer than a secured carrier. Of course a section of the newspaper is placed on the seat to catch any droppings.

Risk vs rewards, its a personal choice.

Great idea, simple and effective. One small problem though, my car is so old it doesn't have headrests. It does have plenty of room for Casper's cage though.

There are other options out there that would probably work with your vehicle. I don't have car perches myself. Either I *AM* the perch, or the birds are in cages/carriers.
