Diggy talks and has a pretty big vocabulary but wont talk in front of people...He waits until he thinks everyone is busy doing something else then he tries to talk under everyones convo and if you listen you can hear him say a ton of things...Can a shy talking bird change and if so how???:

Yes, he's just shy like you said. All you need to do is introduce him to some friends/neighbors of yours, he should eventually feel more comfortable around people other than you. He needs to play with them, take some treats from them, and just hang around them.

That makes perfect sense parrotqueen...

Parrotqueen is 100% correct, follow her advise. Let him interact with other people.
Mishka my AG, was exactly the same. It was so bad, she would not even talk in front of me. I was extremely concerned. After a few weeks, she opened up, now the only problem we have is ....... she never ever keeps quiet LoL.
Just keep talking, let the bird interact with you (and other people) as much as possible, hopefully he will open up.
Keep us updated

Shadow is the same. She says all sorts of things but never when we are taking notice of her. If I pay any attention when she is talking she stops and swawks at me

Forgot to mention this........
Mishka only occasionally talks to me, face to face, beak to nose, LoL while holding her.
I would say, whilst holding her every night for an hour, (in total 8 hours a week) she says about 15 words in total.
It is getting better, just being patient, it will improve, all in her own time.
