blue/green indian ringneck "Peanut"
:D I have a Ringneck named Peanut, had a few problems in and after the buffing stage. Peanut dose not bit me, but the last few days while showing off s/he has bitten me, I do tell s/he NO! Peanut is now about 8 months old, I think it a he because he has a light but gotten a little darker blue nearly black ring. He is starting to talk. saying come, big boy, pretty boy and making his own mixes, he also whistlers. There was a stage he stopped showing off when he started to talk but now he show off to every thing my hand, pen, mirror (when he has one) and toys you name it he will show off. when showing off he makes that bow look to his wings, stands tall and kiss every thing :D

What I would like to know is Peanut a male or a female?

I know that an avian vet's can to a sex DNA test. I have seen a few people who have posted that they did it themselves with a kit. We just had our Green Cheeked Conure DNA tested and it was about 60 dollars at our vet office. Your bird is beautiful!!!!

If you can wait then you will know is your bird male female.Indian ring neck males get rose color ring in their second year.the females lack the ring,in the blue mutation the ring is white.
If you can not wait then go for DNA test.DNA test conforms in early age whether the bird is male or female.
