I mentioned this is my thread up in introductions, but I don't know how many folks read that forum.

I wanted to encourage everyone here to nominate their parrots for Pet of the Day! There are so many kinds and they are such beautiful creatures, and the more people can learn about them, the better, right?

To nominate your bird - or any other pet - see Tell the world about your pet! - or PM me here!

I do not have a parrot, I just dote on the wild birds in my yard, and the little wild juncos told me this time, unlike my intro thread, to not worry about this current snowstorm, no big deal, they said!

Just bumping this up, as the birds are definitely currently outnumbered by furry critters in our nominations right now!

Bumpity bump! We would love some parrot nominations, especially with the movie Rio coming out soon, we'd love to help show of people's real birds and real stories. I don't even know much about the plot, but anytime an animal is featured in a big movie, people tend to run out and want to buy one without doing the right research - like the 101 Dalmatians effect. So the more real parrots whose stories we can help show the world, the better! Yes, they are great pets, but they are not for everyone. For the right person, though, I know they can be the best pet ever, so nominate your babies, okay?

Hey folks, any Easter birdies out there? Birds at least DO lay eggs, unlike bunnies! :) Anyway, we could always use more birdie nominations, so I wanted to bumpity this up.

On non-parrot subjects - it's that time of year for the turkeys! Over the past couple weeks we often get serenaded with male turkey call declaring their availability and prowess to the world!

New Month

Spring has completely sprung, and tomorrow begins a new month! Celebrate your special fed - nominate him or her (or it for those still unsure of gender, that's okay!) to be Pet of the Day! It's a fun way to not only show off your feathered buddy (okay, any pets are welcome), but help educate the world about the joys as well as challenges of these amazing critters!

As always, see Tell the world about your pet! for how to nominate! And thanks!

Just bumping this up - we had the handsome Maccardi a few days ago, but of course always need new nominations! And with Halloween coming up, and then Thanksgiving and Christmas, keep those in mind for fun picture opportunities, and a way o show off your fabulous feathered friend!

I nominate my green cheeks Rio and/or Kai!

Do you have a clearer picture of them? Also, you'd need to email me their ages, and what's special about them!
