Hi,

Is this a normal shed for the beak ? my greenwing has weaned the last weeks and eat seed now

She is tested and healthy overall..
.

2 question.

I have a Blue and Gold, she is very tame. i am not afraid of him.
He will only bite when he is on a high level on a rope of playtoys and doesn't want to come off. when she is in front of me on the playstand she will always step up no problem.
Now i don't get all screaming etc. when she bites but it does hurt.. but i will continue. do i need to not pay attention to the bite ? nothing? he is now 6 months.

When i tap on the playstand last night he comes and then steps up, do i need to accept that he wont step up from a highter level or not ?
I tried to force picking him up but the next time its the same issue.

Overall its a sweet bird just a little more nippy then my greenwing.

Height dominance explained = They don't so much become dominant when they are higher than you, as they are smart enough to recognize that you are not in a position to control them, and become attitudinous and argumentative...

If they get away with it, it reinforces the behavior, and you have a problem on your hands.

If they act up when they are up high, then simply lower it... it generally stops the biting.

And don't let them get away with it.

That's when Mr. Towel would come out in my household, and show them he was not pleased with the aggressive behavior. Now come down and behave!

The beak is normal. Every parrot gets that flaking as it grows. Sometimes it looks much worse than that and still would be normal.
