So, I have been wondering about bird psychology, well - some aspects of it anyhow. Now, I know birds are winged toddlers, but WHY do they expect you to share EVERYTHING (food/liquid related items) with them? All 3 of my birds will go to extensive lengths to get their beaks on anything that I am eating/drinking. They don't try to "steal" it, just "share". The answer is probably simple but can someone explain the rationale behind this behavior. I don't think it can just be a flock thing because if I try to "share" with them, they usually scream at me. Just curious.

It's very simple actually, FEEDING IS A FLOCK ACTIVITY.

If you've ever fed the wild birds, are they polite with each other, or is it, the foods here, everyone grab what they can and dig in?!

Well... unless you train them to accept otherwise, this IS their natural behavior.
