Hello everybody,

I am a new owner of a B&G macaw. I just finished a large play ground, play gym for him that I made out of PVC. I opted for 1" diameter PVC since he is a Macaw. I got the idea for the tray from pictures but the rest I just made up.

The tray I got at Home Depot for $22. It is a washer tray. I sanded off the black print on all 40 ft of pipe I bought but now I wonder why I did because I wrapped it in vet wrap that I got at Tractor Supply.

I put my baby on for the first time tonight and he started flapping away. He did seem to be picking at the vet wrap so hopefully that will not get immediately ripped off. I guess if he does destory it I'll just replace it. At only $2.79 a roll I don't mind.

I'm going to have my husband add to dishes and some stainless steel hooks when he gets home.

Hopefully he'll use the gym to move around and be busy and not just sit on the top.

AWESOME! Now to talk my boyfriend into building me one. :) I love vet wrap. I use it on my play gym, and have used it on home-made PVC perches I have made.

That looks great! how did you add the dishes?

It looks great, how do you attach the pvc to the washer tray? Do you glue the pvc together? If so what do you use? I am not familiar with working with it, but would love to do something like this!

Wow!! I made a PVC playgym for my birdies as well but I wish I had a tray! If I have any spare time I might make another one :). We wrapped ours in sisal, not sure if that would be better than vet wrap or not. You have an awesome playgym, I love it!!!

So awesome!

Awesome, beautiful playstand for a beautiful bird.

That looks awesome! Great job!

Very nice! I bet it's easier to clean than my manzanita tree stand. The wood is splitting and stuff gets caught in cracks. What kind of tray is that?

That looks amazing! Love the way you incorporated the tray and he looks like he's having a blast!

That's the nicest PVC gym I've seen yet!
