for some reason the picture (double conure one) didn't show up the first time I came back to this thread.....that is one of THE CUTEST damn pictures I've ever seen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that may have been my fault. I forgot to upload the pic when I replied so it took me a couple minutes to upload, edit and get it in there. oh, and thank you! it is a good pic!

That's fine, the point is the pic is adorable.....if it was my birds that would be my desktop.

Looks like Jazz is likely a male. Most juveniles will look like females when weaned (the barring of the tail, grey/dark cheeks, intense pearling of the wings) but after the first couple molts, their colors do change so drastically and it is the best indication of the gender.

Based on the loss of cheek grey color, the (looks like) complete loss of pearling, and if no barring on tail, its a boy! I had a male pearl lose most/all of his pearl after the first molt. Same with the cheek color, females will tend to stay grey, ALTHOUGH my female has no grey of the face at all, but has kept all her pearl and barring of the tail feathers.
