So....I found out that it was Skeezix who was calling to Scout so I opened the doors between the cages and it wasn't long before Scout was face to face with Skeezix. Scout proceeded to groom her and then she groomed him. She taught him how to knock down the seed treat to the platform and go down and pick it up (she must have learned that from the sparrows;-). He went back over to his house and she called and called. He went back and they finished off her treat. Next time I saw them, she had been invited over to his digs and there they were, sharing his. Ain't love grand? I'm glad I got him even though it makes it harder to bond with either of them, I still sit and talk with them but the farm and jobs take a lot of my time. They seem very content with each other's company.

What an adorable little couple :)! I bet Skeezix was thrilled you got her a friend. Sounds like they wasted no time getting acquainted, but then budgies love the company of other budgies. It makes them happy ;). Perfect, they'll keep each other company until you're done with work and home to say hi.

On another note, will I have to worry about "little budgies" if I don't put anything in such as nesting materials? (which I have no idea what that would be). I hatch a lot of eggs on the farm but I am not into breeding Parakeets and don't find any necessity to do so.
Thanks!

I personally don't have much experience with bonded male/female pairs. My English female is with my American male in the same cage, and they're "just friends".

The male Twigs had an extremely close bond with another American male who died last year, but he is a little standoffish with Mink. I don't know if it's because he knows she's too young? Or he would prefer another American not an English? Or he just plain isn't attracted to her haha. They will sit near each other on a separate branch or swing, but will never share the same swing or touch each other.

Mink is 6 months old, and I'm not sure if things will change as she becomes mature. If not, then great. I don't want eggs either. There is nothing in their cage that resembles a nest box, or any sort of dark or enclosed area that might encourage breeding. From what I hear, a lot of people keep males and females together without a problem.

Haha, GOOD! because the only eggs I want to see after my last 3 Peafowl hatch will be on a PLATE with SAUSAGE! lol!
