I was hoping we could make up a list of species-specific scientific papers and whatnot which document what different species eat over the course of a year. I myself strive to have a better understanding of what my birds eat in the wild to better understand their dietary and nutritional requirements. It can give us a better understanding of why food sensitivities occur (i.e., eclectus), why some species are prone to certain illnesses, and how to avoid behavioural problems and improve their health.

Amazons of the Americas and its Islands

The vast area from the Plains of South America to the Southern Stated of the USA, the Islands of the Gulf and further East, is one large area with huge variations in resources! In all my searches, I do not recall coming across a specific document(s) that is that far reaching. Yes, specific species with a few sentences regarding diet.

I clearly need to go back and find what I have come across and make it available.

Great Topic!!!
