When I got Scarlet up this morning she was very unsettled. I gave her breakfast but she wouldnt eat. She just kept doing a loud warning scream. I realized that she must be warning us about Hurricane Isaac. We are right in the path of it and we are already getting alot of bad winds and rain. It still isnt to us yet, not until this eve. Gonna be real bad here today, I will just keep calm so my babies know its ok. Anyone else had birdie warnings??

be safe. hope you and your birdies and family are safe:)

A long-time parrot owner I know told me that his flock get louder (annoying, might be the word he used) when the barometric pressure changes. he always knows a storm is coming long before it arrives.

I'm not sure my birdies are super brilliant... they didn't even seem to notice when tropical storm Irene blew through last year. It was bad enough here that most of town lost power for a week.

when the barometric pressure changes

Bingo!! My breeder came to the same conclusion about that, also, after the hurricane hit, it really threw off their normal breeding patterns as well the next year. She had to evac her entire flock for hurricane Ike, there was 12' of water at her place.

That's interesting! We get little enough weather out here it would be hard to tell.

Hope you stay safe! Where I live we don't get any major storms.

Did you fare OK? I just realized that was posted several days ago!

Ike was a couple of years ago, we lost everything we didn't take with us. I posted pics somewhere on here.
