Sassy's middle name, Feisty!

Thanks porta perch, I WISH Rome would perch on a stand inside but she wont. I saw your perches and absolutely love them, love the pic of them in the car - so cute but Rome wouldn't use them. She would hop onto the table, grab the food off the plate and then go and perch on top of one of the chairs. Shes completely content on top of a chair but flat out refuses perches (I've tried every thing to keep her on them and finally just gave up). When shes outside she will perch on stands but for some reason wont inside. We set her up a spot at the table with a place mat but when company comes I know she wouldn't stay in her area, she would be to tempted to travel.

Will she hop to the floor from a 40" high perch? If not, then maybe she can be trained by placing whatever perch further away than anything she would hop onto.

However, if the M2 is much like the U2 we know, you have your hands full. The one we had for two months immediately bonded to my wife, and she claimed the bed for them. I took a nap in the bed one day, and she came in from the other room and attacked me. I had to hide under the covers and call for hep until rescued by the wife. That was before I developed the PortaPerch.

Jewel, J-bird the 20 year old U2, is another sad case. Her owner works for a vet, so pretty free during the week, but once in awhile she attacks dogs in the waiting room; not so good for business. Weekends are spent in a cage in the same room with Rio, the 14 year old CAG who never gets out of his cage. The wacky vet won't sell Rio. We bring J-bird home for the weekend once in awhile. Sorry for the OT.

Oh, my. Rome is a very well behaved Too, one of a kind :21:. I've never met any other bird quite like Rome, shes very unique. Don't get me wrong we have boundaries for her (every Too has to have boundaries or you'll have a dangerous Too) but perching inside I cant seem to make happen. She will jump onto the floor off the perch, I finally decided it wasn't worth the risk of injury and stopped trying. It doesn't cause any problems for her to not perch, she is content sitting on top of a chair or on the table/counter top (she helps me do dishes - if I put dishes on the counter she will throw them in the sink - so cute). She also sits on the couch arm or the back of the couch or on the seat next to you.

I allow her to have a little more freedom than I would any other bird because she is so well behaved. She doesn't typically destroy anything in the house (except the bath room, she likes destroying the bathroom). This Too has ZERO aggression, the only bird I have handled that I can say without a doubt wont bite - EVER. If your doing something that she doesn't like she will take her hand (oops foot) grab yours and push it away, if that doesn't get the message through then she moves away from you. I always supervise when someone else is handling her, so that if she does start to feel uncomfortable I can intervene and explain her body language to them. I don't want her to ever feel like she has to resort to biting to defend herself. We are very respectful of her personal space and constantly read her body language. Shes the most submissive bird I've ever met. If all Toos were like Rome, everyone would have one (aside from the scream, she doesn't do it all the time but she has a M2 scream that only her mommy seems to be able to stand).

She really isn't a handful at all, shes a dream to have.

I love hearing all your stories....can you move to Florida and be my neighbor? Amigo is the coolest bird. Love that Sassy has livened up things ....
